While we primarily support youth like you to explore the uni. and career paths that can help you have a major positive influence on the world, another immediate and consistent way you can achieve and continually affirm your commitment to positive impact is through thoughtful donation! Giving What We Can is a non-profit that helps altruists of all backgrounds, ages, and income levels find the charities that effectively solve the world’s most pressing problems. They have raised over $225 million, largely from nearly 10,000 individuals who have pledged to donate 10% of their annual income. Many are students like you!
In fact, GWWC recommends that students who don’t yet have a stable income instead commit for now to donating 1% of their spending money. They also have trial pledges which allow you to try giving any percentage for a custom duration!
These pledges aren’t legally binding, but they are a public declaration of lasting commitment so we encourage careful discernment before joining this giving community.
